Who can apply for a Coal City Public Library District card?
Anyone who…
- resides
- owns property
- owns a business
…within the boundaries of the Coal City Public Library District
AIBRARY CARD REQUIREMENTS:
Be a resident of the Coal City Public Library District.
You are a resident if:
* You pay taxes to the Coal City Public Library District
* You live in the Coal City Fire District.
Have a photo id.
Driver’s license, state id, or student id is a valid form of a photo id.
Have proof of address.
Examples of valid forms of proof of address include:
* The correct address on your identification.
* Something that has been mailed to your current address.
* Checks with your current address.
Have a parent’s signature if you are under 18.
Library policy states that a child under the age of 18 must have a parent or guardian sign for their library card.
Replacement library cards have a $3 fee.
APPLY FOR A CARD
To apply, please fill out the following form. (Parent or guardian must fill it in if the applicant is under 18 years of age and enter their name in the field for responsible adult.) You will be emailed a temporary library card number within two business days, which you may use immediately to access eAudiobooks, eBooks, eMagazines, eMovies, eMusic and login to access online resources. This card will be valid for one month from the date of issue.
You can pick up your library card by providing proof of residence in the form of picture identification with a currently valid library district address (or a valid picture identification and a piece of mail with your name and current address) and signing for your card. At this time the card will be extended for the full 3 year term.
Please note: you must be eligible for a Coal City Public Library District card in order to receive an account. You are eligible for a card if you pay taxes to the library district. If you are unsure of your library district, you can complete the application process and the library will contact you and let you know if you are eligible.
Patrons from another library district will need to inquire with their home library about their services.
